1. Discovery-Oriented Screening of Dynamic Systems: Combinatorial and Synthetic Applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into six parts, all centered around the development of dynamic (i.e., reversibly interacting) systems of molecules and their applications in dynamic combinatorial chemistry (DCC) and organic synthesis. LÄS MER
2. The Dynamic Detective : Special Interest and Seriality in Contemporary Detective Series
Sammanfattning : This study argues that the relatively new conventions of detective fiction, special interest and seriality, are expanding and regenerating the genre. Special interest designates a political, ethnic, regional, professional or hobby-related agenda of a special interest group (consisting, usually, of writer, protagonist and readers) which makes up an integral part of the detective story. 3. Prediction and experimental validation of dynamic soil-structure interaction of an end-bearing pile foundation in soft clay
Sammanfattning : In the built environment, human activities such as railway and road traffic, constructionworks or industrial manufacturing can give rise to ground borne vibrations. Such vibrations become a concern in urban areas as they can cause human discomfort or disruption of vibration sensitive equipment in buildings. LÄS MER
4. Efficient carbohydrate synthesis by controlled inversion strategies
Sammanfattning : The Lattrell-Dax method of nitrite-mediated substitution of carbohydrate triflates is an efficient method to generate structures of inverse configuration. In this study it has been demonstrated that a neighboring equatorial ester group plays a highly important role in this carbohydrate epimerization reaction, inducing the formation of inversion compounds in good yields. 5. Catalysis in Dynamic Systems: Control within Molecular Reaction Networks
Sammanfattning : Life as we know it is based on complex networks of biochemical reactions that constantly interact within large dynamic systems. The field of systems chemistry uses chemical models to study how reaction networks – and thereby life – function on a molecular level. LÄS MER
