  1. 1. Why the pond is not outside the frog? Grounding in contextual representations by neural language models

    Författare :Mehdi Ghanimifard; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational linguistics; Language grounding; Spatial language; Distributional semantics; Computer vision; Language modelling; Vision and language; Neural language model; Grounded language model;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, to build a multi-modal system for language generation and understanding, we study grounded neural language models. Literature in psychology informs us that spatial cognition involves different aspects of knowledge that include visual perception and human interaction with the world. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Design of Business Process Model Repositories : Requirements, Semantic Annotation Model and Relationship Meta-model

    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; business process; business process model; business process repository; semantic annotation; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Business process management is fast becoming one of the most important approaches for designing contemporary organizations and information systems. A critical component of business process management is business process modelling. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Word Sense Embedded in Geometric Spaces - From Induction to Applications using Machine Learning

    Författare :Mikael Kågebäck; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; word sense induction; word sense disambiguation; word embeddings; extractive summarisation; neural networks; deep learning; natural language procsessing; reinforcement learning;

    Sammanfattning : Words are not detached individuals but part of a beautiful interconnected web of related concepts, and to capture the full complexity of this web they need to be represented in a way that encapsulates all the semantic and syntactic facets of the language. Further, to enable computational processing they need to be expressed in a consistent manner so that similar properties are encoded in a similar way. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the topic of grounding in human-robot interaction, that is, the process by which the human and robot can ensure mutual understanding. To explore this topic, the scenario of a robot holding a presentation to a human audience is used, where the robot has to process multimodal feedback from the human in order to adapt the presentation to the human's level of understanding. 5. 5. Swedish management in Singapore: a discourse analysis study

    Författare :Cheryl Marie Cordeiro-Nilsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Swedish management; discourse analysis; grounded theory; critical discourse analysis; Singapore management; Sweden; Singapore; systemics functional linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : The concept of Scandinavian management as a specialized field of interest, began in the early 1980s with a variety of methods, including quantitative questionnaires, surveys, case studies and narratives within the organization. This dissertation uses discourse analysis as a tool for studying Swedish management characteristics outside of Scandinavia, mainly in Singapore. LÄS MER
