    Författare :Charlotte Sparrenbom; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; physical oceanography; geokemi; Sedimentology; Sedimentologi; Geophysics; meteorology; mineralogi; geochemistry; mineralogy; Petrology; Geologi; fysisk geografi; physical geography; Geology; neo-glacial; in-situ cosmigenic nuclide; XRF-scanning; glacial-isostatic adjustment models; glacial history; sea-level changes; Greenland; isolation basins; fysisk oceanografi; Petrologi; meteorologi; Geofysik;

    Sammanfattning : New results are presented from the investigation of relative sea-level changes in the Nanortalik and Qaqortoq-Narsarsuaq areas in SW Greenland from c. 11 000 cal. years BP to the present. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Sulfur in polar ice and snow : Interpretations of past atmosphere and climate through glacial archives

    Författare :Ulf Jonsell; Margareta Hansson; Mark Curran; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ice cores; aerosols; sulfate; methanesulfonate; sulfur isotopes; climate; glacial cycles; Antarctica; Greenland; Physical geography; Naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Snow contains information on the atmosphere it is deposited from. This information is stored in polar ice sheets (Antarctica and Greenland), which are unique geochronological archives of past climate and atmospheric composition. On time scales from annual to glacial cycles, this thesis deals with the signals of sulfur compounds in these archives. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Long-term changes of mercury, lead and persistent organic pollutants in arctic environments

    Författare :Carola Lindeberg; Ingemar Renberg; Mats Tysklind; Ove Emteryd; Edvard Karlsson; Per Jonsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lake sediment; time trends; chlordane; hexachlorobenzene; mercury; lead; soil; climate changes; Arctic; Greenland; Sweden; Swedish mountains; PCB; PBDE; pesticides; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The Arctic represents a huge area with poor infrastructure contributing to limited possibilities to establish monitoring and research programs. From the investigations that have been performed we know that the arctic environment is affected by anthropogenic emissions from lower latitudes, but knowledge about underlying transport processes, the arctic pollution extent and the rates of changes are limited. 4. 9. "Social work" and missionary work as part of the power game

    Författare :Hans-Jörgen Wallin Weihe; Socialhögskolan; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses "social work" as part of missionary work during Hans Egede´s mission in Greenland (1721-1736) and the starting period of the Norwegian Saami mission (1888-1900). The discussion is focused by connecting it to Habermas´s discussion of "The structural transformation of the public" (1989). LÄS MER

  5. 10. Greenland's future : narratives of natural resource development in the 1900s until the 1960s
