    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns a nuclear accident that occurred in the Thule (Pituffik) area, NW Greenland in 1968, called the Thule accident. Results are based on different analytical techniques, i.e. gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and different sediment models, i. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evolution and taxonomy of Cambrian arthropods from Greenland and Sweden

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Martin Stein; Uppsala universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cambrian; Arthropods; Trilobites; Evolution; Greenland; Sweden; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences Exogenous earth sciences Historical geology and palaeontology; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap Exogen geovetenskap Historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : Arthropods have a rich fossil record spanning the Phanerozoic. Biomineralized forms such as the extinct trilobites are particularly common and are proven index fossils for biostratigraphy. Forms with an unmineralized cuticle are more rare, preserved only in so called konservat lagerstätten. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The point must be to experience things throughout one’s life in all their glory and wonder (Poul Henningsen) The dissertation deals with newly excavated archaeological finds from the Palaeoeskimos who lived around the Nuuk Fjord on the west coast of Greenland about 4000 years ago. The purpose of the study is to present as full a picture a possible of the whole life-world that was theirs. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sulfur in polar ice and snow : Interpretations of past atmosphere and climate through glacial archives

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Institutionen för naturgeografi och kvartärgeologi

    Författare :Ulf Jonsell; Stockholms universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ice cores; aerosols; sulfate; methanesulfonate; sulfur isotopes; climate; glacial cycles; Antarctica; Greenland; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences Exogenous earth sciences Physical geography; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap Exogen geovetenskap Naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Snow contains information on the atmosphere it is deposited from. This information is stored in polar ice sheets (Antarctica and Greenland), which are unique geochronological archives of past climate and atmospheric composition. On time scales from annual to glacial cycles, this thesis deals with the signals of sulfur compounds in these archives. LÄS MER
