11. Spatiotemporal carrier dynamics in graphene
Sammanfattning : Graphene as an atomically thin material exhibits remarkable optical and electronic properties that suggest its technological application in novel optoelectronic devices, such as graphene-based photodetectors and lasers. To understand the properties of such devices on a microscopic level, we study the interplay of optical excitation, carrier-carrier, carrier-phonon, and carrierphoton scattering as well as diffusion processes. 12. Graphene FETs in Microwave Applications
Sammanfattning : Graphene is a one-atom-thick sheet of carbon with numerous impressive properties. It is a promising material for future high-speed nanoelectronics due to its intrinsic superior carrier mobility and very high saturation velocity. LÄS MER
13. Properties and applications of materials based on graphite oxide
Sammanfattning : Graphite oxide (GO) is a hydrophilic, layered material prepared by oxidation of graphite. In the first part of this thesis, we studied materials produced from GO by intercalation and functionalization. The second part of the thesis was focused on supercapacitor applications of high surface area carbons prepared from GO using chemical activation. LÄS MER
14. Building Systems for Electronic Probing of Single Low Dimensional Nano-objects : Application to Molecular Electronics and Defect Induced Graphene
Sammanfattning : Nano-objects have unique properties due to their sizes, shapes and structure. When electronic properties of such nano-objects are used to build devices, the control of interfaces at atomic level is required. LÄS MER
15. On the Road to Graphene Biosensors
Sammanfattning : Biosensors are devices that detect biological elements and then transmit a readable signal. Biosensors can automatize diagnostics that would otherwise have to be performed by a physician or perhaps not be possible to perform at all. Current biosensors are however either limited to particular diseases or prohibitively expensive. LÄS MER
