11. History Reduction Techniques for Simulation of Additive Manufacturing and Physically based Material Modeling
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, finite element (FE) simulations of additive manufacturing (AM) and physically based material modeling are presented. AM is a process where the component is built layer-wise. LÄS MER
12. On the Machinability of High Performance Tool Steels
Sammanfattning : The continuous development of hot forming tool steels has resulted in steels with improved mechanical properties. A change in alloying composition, primarily a decreased silicon content, makes them tougher and more wear resistant at elevated temperatures. However, it is at the expense of their machinability. 13. Modeling the microstructural evolution during hot working of C-Mn and of Nb microalloyed steels using a physically based model
Sammanfattning : Recrystallization kinetics, during and after hot deformation, has been investigated for decades. From these investigations several equations have been derived for describing it. The equations are often empirical or semi-empirical, i.e. LÄS MER
14. Effect of boron and hydrogen on microstructure and mechanical properties of cast Ti-6Al-4V
Sammanfattning : Titanium and its alloys are widely used in applications ranging from aeroengines and offshore equipment to biomedical implants and sporting goods, owing to their high ratio of strength to density, excellent corrosion resistance, and biomedical compatibility. Among the titanium alloys used in aerospace, Ti-6Al-4V (an α+β alloy) is the most widely used, in applications in which the temperature may reach 350°C, at which point it retains good fatigue and fracture properties as well as moderate tensile strength and ductility.
