  1. 6. Flow and Mixing of Pulp Suspensions

    Författare :Johan Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; flow behaviour; boundary-layer; Medium Consistency MC ; mixing; yield stress; suspension; pulp; Laser Doppler Anemometry LDA ; turbulence; fibre;

    Sammanfattning : When producing pulp and paper, pulp suspensions are treated in a number of unit operations at medium consistency (MC) concentrations (3-15% by weight). Pulp suspensions at these concentrations behave as solids at low shear rates, but at sufficiently high shear rates they start to flow and can even be made to act as water. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Strength Properties of Paper produced from Softwood Kraft Pulp : Pulp Mixture, Reinforcement and Sheet Stratification

    Författare :Hanna Karlsson; Luciano Beghello; Lars Nilsson; Lennart Stolpe; Öyvind Gregersen; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; paper strength; tensile strength; tearing resistance; folding endurance; fracture toughness; handsheet former; stratify; multilayer; multiply; reinforcement; refining; beating; abaca; glass fibre; polyester; lyocell; softwood; bond strength; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : For paper producers, an understanding of the development of strength properties in the paper is of uttermost importance. Strong papers are important operators both in the traditional paper industry as well as in new fields of application, such as fibre-based packaging, furniture and light-weight building material. 3. 8. Numerical Modelling of Dynamics of Light Porous Materials

    Författare :Peter Göransson; Teknisk akustik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mechanical engineering; glass fibre; foam; material characterisation; elasto-acoustic; fluid-structure interaction; finite element; Biot; porous material; hydraulics; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Sammanfattning : Porous materials are among the most commonly used materials for noise and vibration reduction in modern transportation vehicles. To design, industrially relevant, weight and cost effective noise and vibration measures, there is a need for general prediction models capable of representing the elasto-acoustic behaviour of such materials. 4. 9. Durability of Embedded Fibre Optic Sensors in Composites

    Författare :Klas Levin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :composites; fibre optic sensor; embedded EFPI sensor; bragg grating sensor; durability. Fatique; impact strain measurement;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns various aspects of the durability offibre optic sensors embedded in composite. Since repair orreplacement of embedded sensors is not generally possible, thefunctional reliability of embedded sensors is one of the mostimportant prerequisites for successful use. LÄS MER

  5. 10. On moisture induced ageing and life assessment for glass fibre composites

    Författare :Peter Mannberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial; Polymeric Composite Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer composites have low specific weight and high specific strength and stiffness. They are therefore a competitive material when designing mechanical applications. LÄS MER
