    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the oeuvre of the Swedish artist Jan Håfström (born 1937), from his debut in 1966 until 2002, is presented for the first time in a comprehensive approach.     Sammanfattning : When the Nationalmuseum opened its gates in 1866 to the public, it was the end of a process which had lasted more than fifty years. The building itself had taken more than twenty years of arguments and struggle to erect, and the debate on whether the nation needed a national museum of art had started already in the 1810s.     Sammanfattning : Churches in two Estonian counties - Ösel-Wiek and Jerwen - have very many similar features with churches in Gotland. In earlier scientific researches these similarities in styles were explained by the artistic ambitions of single travelling masons, the present research emphasizes the political and artistic preferences of those who ordered the buildings to be built and who financed them. The sociological theory of Pierre Bourdieu is used as an analytical framework.One part of the thesis studies different social groups on the market.
