Sammanfattning : Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation has been an active research area for many decades because of its usefulness in many fields, such as wireless communication, navigation, astronomy, surveillance, medicine etc. In DOA estimation, emitted wavefields from unknown sources are measured with the aid of an array of sensors, and this information is then processed to determine various parameters of the sources including the angle between each source and the array. 3. Human Postural Sway Modeling and Balance Impairment Detection
Sammanfattning : Falls, Fear of falling (FoF), and low balance confidence pose significant threats to health and independence among older people. This thesis aims to study humans’ postural and balance mechanisms, from analyzing the effect of multisensory inputs on balance performance and balance-related concerns to modeling the postural sway through physical dynamics and data-driven approaches. 4. On Visual Area Coverage Using Micro Aerial Vehicles
Sammanfattning : The aim of this Licentiate is to advance the field of cooperative visual coverage path planners for multiple Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs), while aiming for their real life adoption towards the tasks of aerial infrastructure inspection. The fields that will be addressed are focusing in: a) the collaborative perception of the environment, b) the collaborative visual inspection, and c) the optimization of the aerial missions based on the remaining flying battery, camera constraints, coverage constraints and other real life mission induced constraints.
