    Sammanfattning : Currently in the field of management, enhancement, territory and cultural heritage analysis, two types of information systems offer significant tools: GIS (Geographic Information System) and AIS (Architectural Information System). The first one manages urban and territorial scale data, the second one administers architectural scale data. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Geospatial Knowledge Discovery using Volunteered Geographic Information : a Complex System Perspective

    Sammanfattning : The continuous progression of urbanization has resulted in an increasing number of people living in cities or towns. In parallel, advancements in technologies, such as the Internet, telecommunications, and transportation, have allowed for better connectivity among people. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A time and place for everything? : social visualisation tools and critical literacies

    Författare :Veronica Johansson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Critical literacy; Document perspective; enactments of meaning; geographic information systems GIS ; ICT; information activities; inscriptions; interaction; library and information science LIS ; representation; social data; social visualisation tools; sociocultural perspective; Library and information science; Library and Information Science; Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to analyse mutual enactments of critical literacies and social visualisation tools as information resources. The central concept of critical literacies as used here extends and redefines prior critical literacy definitions to denote the pluralistic situated enactments of meaning through which study participants identify, question and transform bias, restrictions and power related aspects of access, control and use in relation to the tools. Sammanfattning : Finding the way in known and unknown city environments is a task that all pedestrians carry out regularly. Current technology allows the use of smart devices as aids that can give automatic verbal route directions on the basis of the pedestrian's current position. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Data mining of geospatial data: combining visual and automatic methods

    Författare :Urška Demšar; Hans Hauska; Peter A. Burrough; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; geographic information science; geoinformatics; geovisualisation; spatial data mining; visual data mining; usability evaluation; Other information technology; Övrig informationsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Most of the largest databases currently available have a strong geospatial component and contain potentially useful information which might be of value. The discipline concerned with extracting this information and knowledge is data mining. Knowledge discovery is performed by applying automatic algorithms which recognise patterns in the data. LÄS MER
