    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on development of models and modelling of a wave energy converter in operation. Through the thesis linear potential wave theory has been used to describe the wave-buoy interaction. The generator is designed for use in a wave energy converter, which determines the fundamental requirements of the generator.     Sammanfattning : The wind energy conversion system considered in this thesis is based on a vertical axis wind turbine with a cable wound direct drive PM generator.
