7. Treatment of Skin Wounds with Cell Transplantation and Gene Transfer
Sammanfattning : Background: A large number of different wound coverings have been used in order to improve the wound microenvironment, and thus accelerate repair. Since almost two centuries, clinicians and researchers have developed techniques for skin transplantation. LÄS MER
8. The structure of epsilon-strongly group graded rings
Sammanfattning : The development of a general theory of strongly group graded rings was initiated by Dade, Năstăsescu and Van Oystaeyen in the 1980s, and since then numerous structural results have been established. In this thesis we develop a general theory of so-called (nearly) epsilon-strongly group graded rings which were recently introduced by Nystedt, Öinert and Pinedo and which generalize strongly group graded rings. 9. Functional association networks for disease gene prediction
Sammanfattning : Mapping of the human genome has been instrumental in understanding diseasescaused by changes in single genes. However, disease mechanisms involvingmultiple genes have proven to be much more elusive. Their complexityemerges from interactions of intracellular molecules and makes them immuneto the traditional reductionist approach. LÄS MER
10. Statistical analysis of gene expression data
Sammanfattning : Microarray technology has become one of the most important tools for genome-wide mRNA measurements. The technique has been successfully applied to many areas in modern biology including cancer research, identification of drug targets, and categorization of genes involved in the cell cycle. LÄS MER
