  1. 1. Unwarping and Analysing Electrophoresis Gels

    Författare :John Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Classification; Curved field lines; Gel matching; Image alignment; Image warping; Proteomics; Pulse-field gel electrophoresis; Two-dimensional electrophoresis; Variation; Yeast; Gel matching;

    Sammanfattning : Gel electrophoresis is a technology in molecular biology that is used to separate and quantify biomolecules, for example DNA and proteins. Ideally the position in a gel image corresponds to one or several properties of the molecules, such as size and net charge, but in practise the separation pattern is often warped, that is, geometrically distorted. 2. 2. Quantitative proteomic approaches for the analysis of human lung samples in pulmonary sarcoidosis

    Författare :Ernesto Silva; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on the analysis of protein expression profiles from the airways of sarcoidosis patients using quantitative proteomics. Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology characterized by the presence of noncaseating granulomas in the affected organs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Lipoproteomics : A New Approach to the Identification and Characterization of Proteins in LDL and HDL

    Författare :Helen Karlsson; Mats Lindahl; Christer Tagesson; Pia Davidsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; LDL; HDL; Proteomik; Atheroskleros; Masspektrometri; 2-DE; Molecular medicine; Molekylär medicin;

    Sammanfattning : A proteomic approach was applied to examine the protein composition of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in humans. LDL and HDL were isolated by density gradient ultracentrifugation, and proteins were separated with twodimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) and identified with peptide mass fingerprinting, using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry, and with amino acid sequencing using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry.
