2. Cardiac arrest with emphasis on comorbidity and choice of treatment in acute coronary syndrome in the elderly
Sammanfattning : Background and aim: More data is required on survival and neurological outcome after in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) in the elderly. The influence of comorbidity is often neglected in cardiac arrest research, particularly after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). LÄS MER
3. Pentecostalism, Globalisation and Society in Contemporary Argentina
Sammanfattning : In Argentina, Pentecostalism had a breakthrough in the early 1980s, and today more than 10 per cent of the population are Pentecostals. The revival coincided with a socio-political transformation of Argentinean society. LÄS MER
4. Ecology and Evolution of Resistance to Herbivory : Trichome Production in Arabidopsis lyrata
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I examine variation in occurrence and performance of glabrous and trichome-producing plants of the perennial herb Arabidopsis lyrata. I combine field studies and genetic analysis to (1) examine the function of trichomes as a resistance character in natural populations, (2) compare the magnitude of population differentiation in trichome-production and at putatively neutral marker loci, (3) examine the molecular genetic basis of trichome-production, and (4) quantify the effects of herbivore removal on population growth and relative performance of glabrous and trichome-producing plants. 5. Life and death in wolverines : linking demography and habitat for conservation
Sammanfattning : Developing trustworthy conservation planning for endangered species requires a deep understanding of the variations of their populations in both space and time. I used individual-based long-term location and demographic data on wolverines (Gulo gulo) in Northern Sweden, and data on reproductions from the national monitoring systems of Norway and Sweden, to analyze how wolverine demography in Scandinavia is affected by variation in habitat and management policies.
