  1. 1. The oesophageal mucosa in reflux disease - endoscopic appearance and tissue structure

    Författare :Anders Edebo; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :oesophagus; reflux; angiotensin; epithelium; endoscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) is very common in especially the western world. The cardinal symptoms are heartburn or regurgitations and are caused by the reflux of noxious compounds from the stomach/duodenum to the oesophagus. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Oesophageal function, acid reflux and bronchopulmonary disease : A study on children and adolescents with asthma or cystic fibrosis

    Författare :Per Gustafsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises a literature review of gastro-ocsophageal reflux (GOR) and six studies which aim to determine the prevalence of oesophageal dysfunction (OD) and pathological GOR and their significance concerning the bronchopulmonary disease in children and adolescents with bronchial asthma or cystic fibrosis (CF). Oesophageal function was assessed by manomctry combined with oesophageal provocation tests. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Bile in the oesophagus contributes to the development and complications of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease

    Författare :Jacob Freedman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Gastro- oesophageal reflux disease; duodeno- gastro- oesophageal reflux; bile; oesophagitis; cholecystectomy; ulcer; oesophageal motility; bilitec; normal values;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: To clarify the relationship between duodenogastro- oesophageal reflux (DGOR) and gastro- oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and its complications. Methods: As persons who have had their gallbladders removed have been shown to have an increased incidence of duodenogastric reflux, one would expect them to have an increased incidence of DGOR. 4. 4. Success and failure of conventional and laparoscopic fundoplication in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease

    Författare :Thomas Franzén; Folke Johnsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The outcome of antireflux surgery in a single institution during two decades is presented.101 consecutive patients operated with open partial2 70° fundoplication and crural repair during 1982-1989 were prospectively analysed. All stages ofpreoperative oesophagitis were represented. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Aspects on luminal nitric oxide in relation to oesophageal acid exposure and mucosal integrity

    Författare :Mogens Bove; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :nitric oxide; nitric oxide synthase; acid; gastro-esophageal reflux disease; membrane potentials; saliva; nitrate; blood flow; ferret; histopathology;

    Sammanfattning : Nitric oxide (NO) exerts important neuromuscular control of the oesophagus, but little is known about the sources and effects of the NO present in the distal oesophageal lumen. These questions were presently addressed in both human and animal experiments. LÄS MER
