21. Chronic gastritis in a sample of the general population : Helicobacter pylori infection, metaplastic transformation, epithelial proliferation, p53- and p21 expression and antral mucosal gastrin content with reference to gastric carcinoma development
Sammanfattning : Infection with H. pylori is the main cause of chronic inflammation in the stomach. lt is strongly associated with benign ulcer disease and a risk factor for gastric carcinoma (GC). Different tophographical types of gastritis bear different risks for future development of GC. LÄS MER
22. Theranostic Targeting of GRPR and PSMA in Prostate Cancer
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on five original articles that investigated the theranostics of prostate cancer by gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) targeting. GRPR and PSMA are two extensively evaluated prostate cancer cell markers due to their overexpression in the majority of prostate cancer samples. LÄS MER
23. Prostate cancer theranostics using GRPR antagonist RM26
Sammanfattning : The malignant transformation of cells is often associated with an alteration of their molecular phenotype, resulting in overexpression of several cell surface proteins. Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) and prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) are examples of such pro-teins that are expressed at a high density in prostate cancer. LÄS MER
24. The importance of the CYP2C19 polymorphism for disposition and effects of omeprazole treatment
Sammanfattning : CYP2C19, catalyzes the metabolism of omeprazole and several other drugs. About 3% of Caucasians are poor metabolizers (PM) of these drugs. The goal of this thesis was to evaluate the importance of CYP2C19 polymorphism for disposition and clinical effects of omeprazole treatment in healthy subjects and in patients with acid related disorders. 25. The exocytotic and crinophagic pathways in ECL cells of the rat stomach
Sammanfattning : The ECL cells in the stomach produce, store and secrete a variety of secretory products, such as histamine and chromogranin A-derived peptides (e.g. pancreastatin). The functional significance of the ECL cells can be expected to reflect the nature/bioactivity of the secreted products. LÄS MER
