21. Modelling and Simulation of Thermal Radiation in Biomass Combustion
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents numerical investigations and simulations of fixed bed combustion of wood, models for predicting thermal radiative properties of particles and gases related to the combustion of wood, and a review of heat load calculations in gas turbines. All subjects have a common factor in thermal radiation. LÄS MER
22. Porous Amorphous Calcium Carbonate and Phosphate : Synthesis and Application
Sammanfattning : The synthesis of porous amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) and porous amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) was developed in this thesis. Porous ACC with specific Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area of >350 m2/g was synthesized using a surfactant free approach. The high surface area of porous ACC was related to its nanostructure. 23. Influence of paper properties and polymer coatings on barrier properties of greaseproof paper
Sammanfattning : Greaseproof paper has a dense structure and therefore provides a natural barrier against materials like fat and oils. The barrier is obtained by extensive refining of the pulp. LÄS MER
24. Investigations of the Kinetics of Reduction and Reduction/Carburization of NiO-WO3 Precursors
Sammanfattning : Kinetic studies of reduction of the mixtures of NiO and WO3 having different Ni/(Ni+W) molar ratios in flowing hydrogen gas were investigated by means of Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Fluidized Bed (FB) technique as well as Thermal diffusivity measurements under isothermal conditions. In the case of TGA, the reaction progress was monitored by mass loss, while evolved gas analysis by a gas chromatograph was the indicator of the reaction progress in the case of FB. LÄS MER
25. Porous Sorbents for Environmental Applications and Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printing of Dosage Forms
Sammanfattning : The rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions from vehicular and industrial pollution constitute a serious concern not only for the environment but for our entire society. Traditional gas capture and separation techniques, such as amine scrubbing for CO2 gas separation, have been commonly used at a commercial scale, however issues relating to high costs and high energy requirements for sorbent regeneration have limited the efficiency of many of these techniques.
