  1. 1. CO2 separation using ionic liquid-based absorbents : thermodynamics and kinetics

    Författare :Yifeng Chen; Xiaoyan Ji; Xiaohua Lu; Marcus Öhman; Congmin Wang; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ionic liquids; carbon dioxide; thermodynamics; kinetics; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Ionic liquids (ILs) have shown great potential to be used as absorbents for CO2 separation owing to their unique properties such as immeasurably low vapour pressure, high thermal stability, high CO2 affinity, and tunable structure. A huge amount of researches have been carried out, and most of them focused on developing novel ILs for CO2 separation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gas-Phase Protein Structure Under the Computational Microscope : Hydration, Titration, and Temperature

    Författare :Erik Marklund; David van der Spoel; Albert Heck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular dynamics; gas phase; proteins; micelles; proton transfer; Grothuss mechanism; kinetics; Physics; Fysik; Physics with specialization in Biophysics; Fysik med inriktning mot biofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Although the native environment of the vast majority of proteins is a complex aqueous solution, like the interior of a cell, many analysis methods for assessing chemical and physical properties of biomolecules require the sample to be aerosolized; that is, transferred to the gas-phase. An important example is electrospray-ionization mass spectrometry, which can provide a wide range of information about e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Silicon carbide field-effect devices studied as gas sensors for exhaust gas monitoring

    Författare :Peter Tobias; Ignaz Eisele; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; silicon carbide; high temperature; gas sensors; field effect devices; MISdevices; Schottky diodes; experimental design; reaction kinetics; mass transport; car exhaust; multipoint injection; response times; cylinder specific; on-board diagnosis;

    Sammanfattning : Metal-insulator-silicon carbide (MIS) structures have been studied as gas sensors. We have investigated how the sensors detect gases, how fast they do that, and how they could be used for exhaust gas monitoring.We have prepared simple field-effect devices, MIS-capacitors and Schottky diodes, on silicon carbide with platinum gates. 4. 4. Investigations of the Kinetics of Reduction and Reduction/Carburization of NiO-WO3 Precursors

    Författare :Hesham M. Ahmed; Seshadri Seetharaman; Ricardo Morales Estrella; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reduction; Reduction-Carburization; Gas-solid Reactions; Kinetics; Hydrogen; Methane; Thermogravimetric analysis; Fluidized bed; Simulation; Thermal diffusivity; Thermal conductivity; Laser flash; Metallurgical process engineering; Metallurgisk processteknik; Process Metallurgy;

    Sammanfattning : Kinetic studies of reduction of the mixtures of NiO and WO3 having different Ni/(Ni+W) molar ratios in flowing hydrogen gas were investigated by means of Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Fluidized Bed (FB) technique as well as Thermal diffusivity measurements under isothermal conditions. In the case of TGA, the reaction progress was monitored by mass loss, while evolved gas analysis by a gas chromatograph was the indicator of the reaction progress in the case of FB. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Char conversion kinetics and aerosol characterization in biomass gasification

    Författare :Leteng Lin; Michael Strand; Alberto Gómez-Barea; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biomass gasification; fluidized bed; char; kinetics; aerosol; APS; TEOM; Bioenergiteknik Energi- och Miljöteknik; Bioenergy Technology;

    Sammanfattning : Biomass gasification is a thermochemical conversion by partial oxidation at elevated temperature of solid biomass into a gaseous energy carrier. The product gas contains the major components CO, H2, CO2, CH4, as well as some tar and inorganic impurities and solid particles such as ash, bed material, soot and char. LÄS MER
