  1. 6. Adsorption of surface active elements on the iron (100) surface : A study based on ab initio calculations

    Författare :Weimin Cao; Seshadri Seetharaman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sulfur; oxygen; surface adsorption; iron surface; ab initio calculations; adsorption energy; work function; difference charge density; thermodynamic stability; average velocity; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In the present work, the structural, electronic properties, thermodynamic stability and adatom surface movements of oxygen and sulfur adsorption on the Fe surface were studied based on the ab initio method. Firstly, the oxygen adsorbed on the iron (100) surface is investigated at the three adsorption sites top, bridge and hollow sites, respectively. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Due to climate change and plastic pollution, there is an increasing demand for bio-based materials with similar properties to those of common plastics yet biodegradable. In this respect, cellulose is a strong candidate that is already being refined on a large industrial scale, but the properties differ significantly from those of common plastics in terms of shapeability and water-resilience. Sammanfattning : The present work was initiated to investigate the surface- and interfacial phenomena for iron and slag/iron systems. The aim was to understand the mechanism of the effect of surface active elements on surface and interfacial properties. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Structuring porous adsorbents and composites for gas separation and odor removal

    Författare :Neda Keshavarzi; Lennart Bergström; Kurosch Rezwan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Structure; pulsed current processing; zeolite; aluminophosphate; activated carbon; CO2 separation; adsorption; durability; cellulose; film; coating; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Porous zeolite, carbon and aluminophosphate powders have been colloidally assembled and post-processed in the form of monoliths, flexible free standing films and coatings for gas separation and odor removal. Zeolite 13X monoliths with macroporosites up to 50 vol% and a high CO2 uptake were prepared by colloidal processing and sacrificial templating. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Study of H2/CO/CO2 adsorption on MFI zeolites for CO2 selective WGS membrane reactor concept

    Författare :Sang Wirawan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FTIR spectra; CO2 selective; adsorption; MFI zeolites; Langmuir model; WGS membrane reactor; TPD;

    Sammanfattning : The single-component adsorption behavior of CO, CO2 and multi-component adsorption of H2/CO2, CO/CO2, and H2/CO/CO2 on silicalite-1 and cation exchanged MZSM-5 zeolites (M = H, Na, and Ba) were investigated by a step change response method. Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and in-situ fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy were also performed to study the type of adsorbed species and their thermal stabilities. LÄS MER
