6. Adsorption of surface active elements on the iron (100) surface : A study based on ab initio calculations
Sammanfattning : In the present work, the structural, electronic properties, thermodynamic stability and adatom surface movements of oxygen and sulfur adsorption on the Fe surface were studied based on the ab initio method. Firstly, the oxygen adsorbed on the iron (100) surface is investigated at the three adsorption sites top, bridge and hollow sites, respectively. LÄS MER
7. Design of Cellulose-based Materials by Supramolecular Assemblies
Sammanfattning : Due to climate change and plastic pollution, there is an increasing demand for bio-based materials with similar properties to those of common plastics yet biodegradable. In this respect, cellulose is a strong candidate that is already being refined on a large industrial scale, but the properties differ significantly from those of common plastics in terms of shapeability and water-resilience. 8. Theoretical and experimental studies of surface and interfacial phenomena involving steel surfaces
Sammanfattning : The present work was initiated to investigate the surface- and interfacial phenomena for iron and slag/iron systems. The aim was to understand the mechanism of the effect of surface active elements on surface and interfacial properties. LÄS MER
9. Structuring porous adsorbents and composites for gas separation and odor removal
Sammanfattning : Porous zeolite, carbon and aluminophosphate powders have been colloidally assembled and post-processed in the form of monoliths, flexible free standing films and coatings for gas separation and odor removal. Zeolite 13X monoliths with macroporosites up to 50 vol% and a high CO2 uptake were prepared by colloidal processing and sacrificial templating. LÄS MER
10. Study of H2/CO/CO2 adsorption on MFI zeolites for CO2 selective WGS membrane reactor concept
Sammanfattning : The single-component adsorption behavior of CO, CO2 and multi-component adsorption of H2/CO2, CO/CO2, and H2/CO/CO2 on silicalite-1 and cation exchanged MZSM-5 zeolites (M = H, Na, and Ba) were investigated by a step change response method. Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and in-situ fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy were also performed to study the type of adsorbed species and their thermal stabilities. LÄS MER
