  1. 1. Occupational exposure to fluorinated ski wax

    Författare :Helena Nilsson; Jonathan W. Martin; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perfluorinated; polyfluorinated; FIS; occupational exposure; ski wax; biotransformation; metabolism; fluorotelomer alcohol; fluorotelomer acid; aerosol; dust; UPLC MS-MS; GC MS-MS; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) are used in the production of ski wax to reduce the friction between the snow and the ski. In this occupational study of ski wax technicians’ exposure to PFAS and particulate aerosol we have collected whole blood (wb) (n =94), air (n =84) and aerosol (n =159) samples at World Cup events from 2007-2011. 2. 2. Gas chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-tandem mass spectrometry methods for the determination of environmental contaminants

    Författare :Dawei Geng; Bert van Bavel; Ingrid Ericson Jogsten; Jessika Hagberg; Thanh Wang; Heidi Fiedler; Kees Olie; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PCDD Fs; PCBs; OCPs; PBDEs; NBFRs; APCI; MS MS; HRMS; human serum; osprey egg; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The recent developments and improvements of instrumental methods for the analyses of the environmental contaminants, especially the persistent organic pollutants (POPs), have made it possible to detect and quantify these at very low concentrations in environmental and biotic matrices.The main objective of this thesis is to demonstrate the capability of the atmospheric pressure chemical ionization technique (APCI), using gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry for the determination of a wide range of environmental contaminants, including the POPs regulated by Stockholm Convention, such as polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), but also the derivates of PBDEs and novel brominated flame retardants (NBFRs). 3. 3. Damsel in distress – metabolomics as a novel tool to investigate the effects of wastewater exposure on damselfly larvae

    Författare :Jana Späth; Malin L. Nording; Jerker Fick; Stina Jansson; Tuulia Hyötyläinen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biomarkers; ecotoxicology; invertebrates; GC-MS; LC-MS; LC-MS MS; metabolomics; micropollutants; pharmaceuticals; risk assessment; ekotoxikologi; Ecotoxicology; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Aquatic organisms, such as aquatic invertebrates, are exposed to anthropogenic pollutants through their environment. These pollutants, despite their low levels, can adversely affect exposed individuals or even entire ecosystems, especially when present in complex mixtures. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Analytical studies of morphine and related substances using LC-MS/MS

    Författare :Maria Andersson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Morphine is considered to be metabolized in three distinct metabolic pathways; glucuronidation, sulfation and N-demetylation. However, identification of morphine-3-sulfate (M3S) and morphine-6-sulfate (M6S) as morphine metabolites has not been convincing according to previous literature due to lack of reliable reference material and identification based on thin layer chromatography. 5. 5. Simplified Routines for Sample Preparation and Analysis of Chemical Warfare Agent Degradation Products

    Författare :Raja Subramaniam; Calle Nilsson; Paula Vanninen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nerve agents; Alkyl alkylphosphonic acids; Solid phase derivatization; Fluorinated diazomethane reagent; High-energy collision induced dissociation; CID MS MS library; analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis describes the development of new and improved methods for analyzing degradation markers from organophosphorus Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs). Paper I and II describes an innovative and significantly improved method for the enrichment, derivatization (trimethysilylation) and GC-MS analysis of a broad range of organophosphorus CWAs degradation markers, namely the alkylphosphonic acids and a zwitterionic compound.
