  1. 1. Building-related renewable electricity production with storage and energy-efficient buildings : Exploring barriers, drivers and quality assurance

    Författare :Anna-Lena Lane; Mathias Cehlin; Thomas Olofsson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency gap; energy performance gap; ByggaE; battery storage; barriers; drivers; Non-energy benefits NEB; questionnaire; quality assurance; PV; energieffektivisering; energieffektiva byggnader; kvalitetssäkring; byggprocessen; ByggaE; solel; batterilager; hinder; drivkrafter; enkätstudie; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : There is a need to reduce unsustainable use of fossil fuels. Increased usage of renewable energy by combined use of photovoltaic solar panels (PV) with battery storage is one way. Another way is to increase awareness of energy usage and reduce the energy performance gap by building energy-efficient buildings. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Bridging the gap between clinical trials and clinical practice : sacubitril-valsartan in heart failure as a model

    Författare :Helena Norberg; Krister Lindmark; Ellinor Bergdahl; Eva-Lotta Glader; Björn Wettermark; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Systematic implementation; healthcare quality improvement; chronic disease management; heart failure; sacubitril-valsartan; real-world population; sex differences; kardiologi; Cardiology;

    Sammanfattning : When novel treatments prove more effective than standard therapies, a swift and effective implementation is needed to reach cost-effectiveness and to benefit eligible patients. Meanwhile, women and elderly are often under-represented in clinical trials, which creates a knowledge gap on how to optimize treatment in clinical practice. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Heated air gaps : a possibility to dry out dampness from building constructions

    Författare :Tord af Klintberg; Folke Björk; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Water damage; convection; air gap; building; construction; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The air gap method is a modification of the common way of building indoor walls and floors. The aim of the method is to make a construction, less fragile to water damage, with air gaps where moisture can be removed with a thermally driven air flow, caused by a heating cable. The thesis includes a number of experimental studies of this method. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Vehicle-vehicle Interactions at Roundabouts and their Implications for the Entry Capacity - A Methodological Study with Applications to Two-lane Roundabouts

    Författare :Ola Hagring; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Samhällsvetenskaper; Social sciences; maximum likelihood; headways; critical gaps; driver behaviour; capacity; Gap acceptance; two-lane roundabouts; Technological sciences; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Problem: The thesis deals with the capacity of two-lane roundabouts and with vehicle-vehicle interactions there. Method: The interactions and the corresponding capacity are modelled by gap-acceptance theory. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Regulating energy performance of residential buildings in cold climate : a study of indicators, criteria, and evaluation methods

    Författare :Ingrid Allard Stolterman; Thomas Olofsson; Gireesh Nair; Folke Björk; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy performance; building simulation; cold climate; energy use; indicators; evaluation methods; building regulations; residential buildings; energy measurements; performance gap; energy signature; sustainable development; hållbar utveckling; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Building energy performance has been important in Fennoscandia ever since the early vernacular houses, to combat the cold climate. Due to EU directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD recast), building energy performance has become even more relevant in northern Europe the last decade. LÄS MER
