  1. 16. Synthesis and Structure of Novel G-Protein Coupled Receptor Ligands

    Författare :Magnus Brisander; Tommy Liljefors; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; strukturkemi; Structural Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : A method based on h6-arenetricarbonylchromium chemistry has been developed for the synthesis of enantiopure 4-alkylated 3-(dipropylamino)chromans. The stereochemistry of these new serotonergic ligands was determined by a combination of X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy and chemical correlation. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Studies of the Neuropeptide Y Receptor Y2 in Human and Zebrafish

    Författare :Helena Fällmar; Dan Larhammar; Ingrid Lundell; Nina Mohell; Raquel E. Rodríguez Rodríguez; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Y2-receptor; NPY; PYY; G-protein-coupled receptor; mutagenesis; receptor binding; zebrafish; evolution; Pharmacology; Farmakologi; Farmakologi; Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : The G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) comprise the largest family of receptors in humans and other vertebrates. They are embedded in the cell membrane and are activated by many different signaling molecules. Activation modulates cellular signal transduction pathways and influences many physiological processes. 3. 18. The G protein-coupled receptor GPR30 signalosome - A novel G protein-independent mechanism regulating cAMP signaling and receptor trafficking

    Författare :Stefan Broselid; Drug Target Discovery; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AKAP5; AKAP; MAGUK; cAMP signaling; constitutive signaling; signalosome; GPER; GPR30; GPCR; cytokeratin; RAMP3; apoptotic signaling; breast cancer; PDZ; PDZ-ligand;

    Sammanfattning : The large protein family called G Protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) has co-evolved with life throughout evolution; from single cell organisms all the way to complex beings such as us humans. The fact that GPCRs are involved in essentially every physiological event, and that ~50% of drugs on the current market are either directly or indirectly targeted towards the function of GPCRs, we can be certain of their considerable importance. 4. 19. The Role of Membrane Trafficking in G Protein-Coupled Receptor Regulation

    Författare :Johan Enquist; Drug Target Discovery; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; downregulation; recycling; resensitization; desensitization; GPCR; membrane trafficking;

    Sammanfattning : Movements of a receptor in the plasma membrane and within the cell influence receptor function and physiology. I have investigated the role of such movements, generally known as membrane trafficking, in G protein-coupled receptor regulation. LÄS MER

  5. 20. G Protein-Coupled Receptors; Discovery of New Human Members and Analyses of the Entire Repertoires in Human, Mouse and Rat

    Författare :David E. Gloriam; Helgi Schiöth; Robert Fredriksson; Darren Flower; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Bioinformatics; G protein-coupled receptor; GPCR; Bioinformatics; Evolution; Orphan; Rhodopsin; Adhesion; Phylogeny; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are signal mediators that have a prominent role in the regulation of physiological processes and they make up the targets for 30-45% of all drugs. Papers I and II describe the discovery of new human GPCRs belonging to the Rhodopsin family, a family which contains many common drug targets. LÄS MER
