11. Multifunctional nanostructured Ti-Si-C thin films
Sammanfattning : In this Thesis, I have investigated multifunctional nanostructured Ti-Si-C thin films synthesized by magnetron sputtering in the substrate-temperature range from room temperature to 900 °C. The studies cover high-temperature growth of Ti3SiC2 and Ti4SiC3, low-temperature growth of Ti-Si-C nanocomposites, and Ti-Si-C-based multi¬layers, as well as their electrical, mechanical, and thermal-stability properties. 12. Aspects of Massive MIMO
Sammanfattning : Next generation cellular wireless technology faces tough demands: increasing the throughput and reliability without consuming more resources, be it spectrum or energy. Massive mimo (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) has proven, both in theory and practice, that it is up for the challenge. LÄS MER
13. High Order Cut Finite Element Methods for Wave Equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis considers wave propagation problems solved using finite element methods where a boundary or interface of the domain is not aligned with the computational mesh. Such methods are usually referred to as cut or immersed methods. LÄS MER
14. Thermochromic VO2-based materials for smart windows : Progress towards applications in buildings
Sammanfattning : Vanadium dioxide is a well-known thermochromic material, whose optical properties can be varied reversibly in response to fluctuation of temperature. It is attractive in various fields due to its unique properties as well as its prospective applications. LÄS MER
15. Signal Processing Aspects of Massive MIMO and IRS-Aided Communications
Sammanfattning : The data traffic in cellular networks has grown at an exponential pace for decades. This trend will most probably continue in the future, driven by new innovative applications. One of the key enablers of future cellular networks is the massive MIMO technology, and it has been started to be commercially deployed in many countries. LÄS MER
