  1. 1. Approaches to particle acceleration in intense laser-matter interaction

    Författare :Joel Magnusson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; particle-in-cell; nonlinear dynamics; laser; plasma; laser-matter interaction; particle acceleration;

    Sammanfattning : In the interaction of ultra-intense laser fields with matter, the target is rapidly ionized and a plasma is formed. The ability of a plasma to sustain acceleration gradients, orders of magnitude larger than achievable with conventional accelerators, has led to a great interest in laser-driven plasma-based particle acceleration and radiation generation, with applications in materials science, biology and medicine. 2. 2. Experimental methods of neutron diagnostics and fast ion physics for fusion devices

    Författare :Andrea Sperduti; Marco Cecconello; Massimo Nocente; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik med inriktning mot tillämpad kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Applied Nuclear Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Measurements of the neutron emission resulting from nuclear fusion reactions provide an abundance of information on the underlying spatial, temporal and energetic distributions of reacting ions and how they are affected by a wide range of MagnetoHydroDynamic (MHD) instabilities.This thesis focuses on studies of the neutron emission and fast ion physics at the Mega Ampere Spherical Tokamak (MAST), its upgrade MAST-U, the Joint European Torus (JET) and the Divertor Tokamak Test (DTT). 3. 3. Regionen och EU? : Uppfattningar och attityder till EU-relaterade frågor i Västsverige

    Författare :Magnus Lindh; Lee Miles; Malin Stegmann McCallion; mikael Granberg; Linda Berg; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Europeanisation; Europeanization; Fusion approaches; Micro fusion framework; Regional action; Multilevel governance; Western Sweden; West Sweden; Europeisering; fusionsansatsen; makrofusionstesen; micro fusion framework; sammanvävt flernivåsystem; Västsvenska regionen; West Sweden; Statsvetenskap; Political Science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores perceptions and preferences on regional action in EU-related frameworks among regional actors in Western Sweden. Building upon the literature on Europeanisation and the Fusion approach, three dimensions of Europeanisation are clarified and explored– download, upload and crossload – and together with a set of five variables that constitute the Micro Fusion Framework; a comprehensive analytical tool is developed. 4. 4. Sensor Fusion for Automotive Applications

    Författare :Christian Lundquist; Fredrik Gustafsson; Thomas B. Schön; Uwe Hanebeck; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kalman filter; PHD filter; extended targets; tracking; sensor fusion; road model; single track model; bicycle model;

    Sammanfattning : Mapping stationary objects and tracking moving targets are essential for many autonomous functions in vehicles. In order to compute the map and track estimates, sensor measurements from radar, laser and camera are used together with the standard proprioceptive sensors present in a car. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Endoplasmic Reticulum Dynamic Structural Changes in Neurons: The Fission-Fusion Phenomena

    Författare :Krzysztof Kucharz; Sektion IV; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fragmentation; fission; endoplasmic reticulum; neurons; FRAP; primary cultures; organotypic slice cultures; in vivo; in situ; calcium; fusion; NMDA receptor; 2-photon microscopy; confocal microscopy;

    Sammanfattning : The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is crucial for protein synthesis and protein maturation, is involved in cell stress and serves in neurons as the major intracellular Ca2+ store. Neuronal ER forms a continuous network of cisterns and tubules extending from soma to a subset of dendritic spines. LÄS MER
