16. Analyses of protein evolution, function, and architecture
Sammanfattning : Proteins can evolve over time in many different ways. An ancestral protein sequence inherited in different species will gradually undergo changes in primary sequence and sometimes in domain architecture. Some of these changes will affect its function, and evolutionary analyses can be used to predict function shift. LÄS MER
17. Blood flow specific assessment of ventricular function : Visualization and quantification using 4D flow CMR
Sammanfattning : The spectrum of cardiovascular diseases is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Early assessment and treatment of these conditions, acquired as well as congenital, is therefore of paramount importance. The human heart has a great ability to adapt to various hemodynamic conditions by cardiac remodeling. LÄS MER
18. A Shift in Urban Mobility and Parking? : Exploring Policies in Relation to Practices
Sammanfattning : The transport sector is associated with many environmental challenges, including carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Research indicate that CO2 emissions should decrease by at least 50 % per decade in order to be in line with the Paris Agreement, and the transport sector is highlighted as a particularly challenging sector. 19. Effects of Ageing and Physical Activity on Regulation of Muscle Contraction
Sammanfattning : The aims of this study were to investigate the mechanisms underlying (1) the ageing-related motor handicap at the whole muscle, cellular, contractile protein and myonuclear levels; and (2) ageing-related differences in muscle adaptability. In vivo muscles function was studied in the knee extensors. 20. Topics in Complex Analysis and Operator Theory I. The shift operator on spaces of vector-valued analytic functions II. Fatou-type theorems for general approximate identities III. Preduals of Q_p-spaces
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of six articles on three different subjects in the area of complex analysis, operator theory and harmonic analysis. Part I - "The Shift Operator on Spaces of Vector-valued Analytic Functions" consists of three closely connected articles that investigate certain operators in the Cowen-Douglas class with spectrum D - the unit disc, or equivalently, the shift operator M_z (multiplication by $z$) on Hilbert spaces of vector-valued analytic functions on D.
