1. Object-Oriented Declarative Program Analysis
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with techniques for raising the programming level for a particular kind of computations, namely those on abstract syntax trees. Such computations are central in many program analysis tools, such as compilers, smart language-sensitive editors, and static analysis tools. LÄS MER
2. Subject retrieval in web-based library catalogs
Sammanfattning : This thesis has been motivated by past research, problems and realizations that online library catalog users frequently perform subject searches – using keywords, subject headings and descriptors – and these searches have yielded unsatisfactory results. Web-based catalogs or WebPACs (Web-based Online Public Access Catalogs), belonging to the so-called third generation of online catalogs and providing a wide variety of search options, remain largely underutilized despite the continuous advancement of information retrieval systems. 3. Vippning av stålbalkar i hallramar
Sammanfattning : The present thesis, written in Swedish, deals with the problem of lateral-torsional buckling, especially in gable frames. The aim of the work presented is to suggest an improved design method that takes into account the translational and rotational restraint produced by the roof and wall. A particular question is the behaviour of the comer region. LÄS MER
4. Celestial Cycles : Astronomical Concepts of Regeneration in the Ancient Egyptian Coffin Texts
Sammanfattning : This study analyzes the astronomical references found in the ancient Egyptian Coffin Texts. Chapter i presents the aim and method of this study as well as describing the primary sources and previous research. Chapter 2 deals with the conceptual background for the three cycles, as related to the year, month and the day as units of time. LÄS MER
5. Measuring the solar atmosphere
Sammanfattning : The new CRISP filter at the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope provides opportunities for observing the solar atmosphere with unprecedented spatial resolution and cadence. In order to benefit from the high quality of observational data from this instrument, we have developed methods for calibrating and restoring polarized Stokes images, obtained at optical and near infrared wavelengths, taking into account field-of-view variations of the filter properties.
