  1. 1. Bringing fuel cells to reality and reality to fuel cells : A systems perspective on the use of fuel cells

    Författare :Maria Saxe; Per Alvfors; Angelo Moreno; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Assessment; CUTE; Demonstration projects; Emerging technology; Evaluation; Fuel cell buses; Fuel cell systems; Fuel cells; Hype; Interdisciplinary; Niche markets; PEM; Radical technologies; SOFC; Strategic niche markets; Sustainability; Chemical energy engineering; Kemisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : With growing awareness of global warming and fear of political instability caused by oil depletion, the need for a society with a sustainable energy system has been brought to the fore. A promising technology often mentioned as a key component in such a system is the fuel cell technology, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fuel Cells and Biogas

    Författare :Lars Hedström; Per Alvfors; Peter Lund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; air bleed; biogas; carbon dioxide; carbon monoxide; current distribution; dilution; efficiency; energy conversion; energy systems; experimental; fuel cell; fuel cell systems; PEFC; poisoning; reformate; SOFC; Chemical energy engineering; Kemisk energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns biogas-operated fuel cells. Fuel cell technology may contribute to more efficient energy use, reduce emissions and also perhaps revolutionize current energy systems. The technology is, however, still immature and has not yet been implemented as dominant in any application or niche market. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : To mitigate the climate crisis, and reduce carbon emissions from e.g. the transport and energy sectors, hydrogen has been proposed to be used as an environmentally friendly alternative energy carrier. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Materials Reliability in PEM Fuel Cells

    Författare :Live Mølmen; Peter Leisner; Ulf Jansson; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fuel cell; PEMFC; Bipolar plate; Catalyst; Electrodeposition; Corrosion; Stainless steel; Accelerated stress tests; bränsleceller; PEM; bipolära plattor; katalysator; elektroplätering; korrosion; accelererad testning;

    Sammanfattning : As part of the global work towards reducing CO2 emissions, all vehicles needs to be electrified, or fueled by green fuels. Batteries have already revolutionised the car market, but fuel cells are believed to be a key energy conversion system to be able to electrify also heavy duty vehicles. LÄS MER

    Författare :Azra Selimovic; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; statistical physics; plasma; plasmas; Gaser; fluiddynamik; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; Gases; fluid dynamics; applied thermodynamics; Thermal engineering; Hybrid Cycles; Gas Turbines; Mathematical Modelling; Electrochemistry; Fuel Cells; Solid Oxide Fuel Cells; thermodynamics; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; klassisk mekanik; kvantmekanik; relativitet; gravitation; statistisk fysik; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; classical mechanics; quantum mechanics; relativity;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), working at high temperatures with an incomplete fuel oxidation process, have become an interesting candidate for combination with conventional power generation technology, such as gas turbines, in order to develop power plants that are both functional and efficient. An absolute condition for successful analysis and optimisation of such plants is the existence of reliable simulation tools. LÄS MER
