  1. 1. Insulinogenic Effects of Milk- and Other Dietary Proteins, Mechanisms and metabolic implications

    Författare :Mikael Nilsson; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Näringslära; Nutrition; Type 2 diabetes; Isolated islets; Incretin hormones; Food proteins; Amino acids; Insulin index; Glycaemic index; Hyperinsulinaemia; Insulin; Blood glucose; Milk; Whey;

    Sammanfattning : The metabolic syndrome (type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, dyslipidaemia, and hyperinsulinaemia), is increasing in prevalence world-wide. The progression of this syndrome proceeds through a step-wise deterioration of metabolic events where deterioration of insulin sensitivity appears to have a key role in a ?vicious circle? of hyperinsulinaemia/hyperglycaemia and insulin resistance. 2. 2. METABOLIC PROPERTIES OF RYE PRODUCTS Focusing on insulinaemia, glycaemic profile and appetite regulation in healthy subjects

    Författare :Liza Rosén; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rye; glycaemia; insulin resistance; type 2 diabetes; wholegrain; obesity;

    Sammanfattning : The prevalence of metabolic disorders, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and the insulin resistance syndrome (IRS) are increasing worldwide. However, disturbances in the metabolic status can be prevented by changing the daily diet towards more whole grains, vegetables, legumes and dairy products. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Barley- and Legume Products Beneficially Affect Metabolic Responses and Appetite Regulation

    Författare :Elin Johansson; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The role of dietary fibre (DF) in disease prevention has been extensively investigated and prospective studies observed that increased DF intake decreased the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), reduced the risk of weight gain as well as the risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D). Also a diet characterized by low glycaemic index (GI) has been shown to reduce the risk of T2D and CVD. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Gestational Diabetes, screening, diagnosis and prognosis

    Författare :Anders E Åberg; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []

    Författare :Helena Lindh; Förpackningslogistik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Packaging; Features; Functions; Food; Organic; Life cycle; Eco; Sustainable Packaging; Development; Design;

    Sammanfattning : Previous research has argued that packaging has a great potential to contribute to sustainable development, but how to put this potential into practice is not yet fully explored. The theoretical foundation of the research presented is at the intersection of packaging logistics and sustainable development. LÄS MER
