16. Multi-Cell Massive MIMO: Power Control and Channel Estimation
Sammanfattning : Cellular network operators have witnessed significant growth in data traffic in the past few decades. This growth occurs due to the increase in the number of connected mobile devices, and further, the emerging mobile applications developed for rendering video-based on-demand services. LÄS MER
17. On control of cascaded H-bridge converters for STATCOM applications
Sammanfattning : Cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converters are today considered the industrial standard for STATCOM applications, mainly due to their small footprint, high achievable voltage levels, modularity and reduced losses. However, there are still areas of research that need to be investigated in order to improve the performance and the operational range of this converter topology for grid-applications. LÄS MER
18. Investigation of Issues Related to Electrical Efficiency Improvements of Pump and Fan Drives in Buildings
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with issues related to efficiency of building related pump and fan drive systems. Different motor technologies are analyzed and a more detailed study oninverter fed Induction Machines (IM) is presented. LÄS MER
19. Modulation of Modular Multilevel Converters for HVDC Transmission
Sammanfattning : The outstanding features of modular multilevel converters (MMC) have recently gained much attention in the high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission field. Power quality, converter cost and system performance are three crucial aspects of HVDC MMCs which are directly linked to the converter modulation and switching schemes. LÄS MER
20. Entanglement detection schemes and coherent manipulation of spin in quantum dots
Sammanfattning : The work contained in this thesis deals with two closely related topics. Papers I-III deal with charge transport statistics in nanoscale devices to investigate the presence of entanglement in the constituent electrons. We identify the contributions of entangled electron pairs to the current cross-correlations as a signature of entanglement. LÄS MER
