21. Beyond Köhler theory : Molecular dynamics simulations as a tool for atmospheric science
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the results from molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of nanoaerosol clusters are discussed. The connecting link of these studies is the Köhler theory, which is the theory of condensational growth and activation of cloud droplets to form clouds. LÄS MER
22. Intervention for improved newborn feeding and survival where HIV is common : Perceptions and effects of a community-based package for maternal and newborn care in a South African township
Sammanfattning : South Africa recently changed infant feeding policy within Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) of HIV from free formula to recommendation of breastfeeding for all. The country is evaluating the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in supporting mothers and newborns. LÄS MER
23. The Dynamics of Star Cluster Formation
Sammanfattning : How do star clusters form? We care, since these are the birth sites of most stars, perhaps including our own Sun. There are a great variety of different theoretical models of cluster formation and our main goal in this thesis is to examine the implications of these for the dynamical evolution of a cluster's stellar population, including the ejected stars. 24. Sickness absence and disability pension among individuals injured in a bicycle crash
Sammanfattning : Bicyclists are the road user group with the highest number of severe injuries, yet little is known about the impact of such injuries on sickness absence (SA) and disability pension (DP). Therefore, the aim was to increase the knowledge on factors associated with SA and DP among individuals of working ages, injured in a bicycle crash. LÄS MER
25. LDI-MS strategies for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs
Sammanfattning : The advancement of mass spectrometry (MS) has been and continues to be a prominent analytical technique for highly accurate determination of analytes. The goal of this thesis was to develop new laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometric (LDI-MS) methods for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs. LÄS MER
