11. Estimation of Discrete Parameters in Linear Systems
Sammanfattning : Linear models are the by far most commonly used approach for describing physical signals and systems. As a result, the theory of linear models is quite extensive in areas like control theory and signal processing. However, in many applications a linear model is adequate only if some information of discrete nature is available. LÄS MER
12. Optimal Segmentation of Linear Regression Parameters
Sammanfattning : The problem of detecting multiple changes in the dynamical properties of a measured signal, which we call segmentation, is studied. A Bayesian model-based approach is used. The signal is supposed to be described by a linear regression. The posterior distribution for the change instants is first derived for a quite general signal model. LÄS MER
13. The Visible Palm: Market Failures, Industrial Policy and the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry
Sammanfattning : What role the state should and can play in bringing about economic development is one of the longest standing debates in the economic sciences. Yet, previous research has mostly focused on how a variety of industrial policies affect static efficiency. LÄS MER
14. Läkaren, döden och brottet : Studier i den svenska rättsmedicinens etablering
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates the long historical process leading up to the establishment of Swedish forensic medicine in the middle of the 19th century. Both the development of the practice of investigating suspicious deaths, primarily through autopsies, and the scientific development, leading up to the founding of forensic medicine as a medical discipline and a distinct field of knowledge are dealt with. 15. Towards Accurate and Reliable Deep Regression Models
Sammanfattning : Regression is a fundamental machine learning task with many important applications within computer vision and other domains. In general, it entails predicting continuous targets from given inputs. LÄS MER
