  1. 1. Spectra and Dynamics of Excitations in Long-Range Correlated Structures

    Författare :Lars Kroon; Rolf Riklund; Magnus Johansson; Jeroen Lamb; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quasicrystals; deterministic aperiodic superlattices; Markov chains; electronic structure and diffusion; elastic vibrations; Fraunhofer diffraction; discrete solitons; phase transitions; Condensed matter physics; Kondenserade materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Vad karaktäriserar en kristall? Svaret på denna till synes enkla fråga blir kanske att det är en anordning av atomer uppradade i periodiska mönster. Så ordnade strukturer kan studeras genom att det uppträder så kallade Braggtoppar i röntgendiffraktionsmönstret. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Confinement and resonant phenomena in small Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 mesa structures

    Författare :Sven-Olof Katterwe; Vladimir M. Krasnov; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, intrinsic Josephson junctions, naturally formed in the stronglyanisotropic high-temperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8, are studied experimentally.Small mesa structures are fabricated on the surface of singlecrystals using micro- and nano-fabrication tools, focused ion beam is used toreduce the mesa-area to ≈ 1 × 1 μm2. 3. 3. Compact Soft X-Ray Microscopy : Sources, Optics and Instrumentation

    Författare :Per Takman; Hans Hertz; Janos Kirz; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; soft x-ray microscopy; water window; compact; laser plasma; liquid jet; zone plate optics; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development of a sub-60-nm full-period resolution compact soft x-ray microscope operating in the water-window region (2.3-4.4 nm). Soft x-ray water-window microscopy is a powerful technique for high-resolution imaging of organic materials exploiting the natural contrast mechanism between carbon and oxygen, cf. LÄS MER
