1. Property fragmentation : Redistribution of land and housing during the Romanian democratisation process
Sammanfattning : In the context of democratisation in the early 1990s, the governments in Central and East Europe (CEE) had to decide how to deal with property that had been confiscated under state socialism. Nationalised housing and collectivised land were to a varying extent returned to former owners and their heirs by means of restitution, as well as being distributed to other citizens who were in possession of the users’ rights to such properties. Sammanfattning : In this work we will discuss fragmentation and molecular growth processes in collisions of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) molecules, fullerenes, or their clusters with atoms or atomic ions. 3. An X-ray Based Spectroscopic Study of Structure Influencing Electrons : Fragmentation, Ultrafast Charge Dynamics and Surface Composition

Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with fragmentation of complex molecular ions, especially biomolecules, in gas phase collision experiments. The aim is to investigate the relations between energy deposition and fragmentation and to shed light on the mechanisms behind energy and charge transfer processes in collisions involving the building blocks of life.
