2. Molecular Probing of Local Protein-Protein Interactions : Studies of the tissue factor, factor VIIa complex formation
Sammanfattning : Protein-protein interactions are intrinsic to virtually all cellular processes. However, very little is known about the dynamics of the formation of protein complexes or the order of events that direct the association between two protein molecules (the association pathway), especially when different interacting surfaces are involved. 3. Kapitalbildning i svensk industri 1870-1930
Sammanfattning : The significance of physical capital is often mentioned in general terms in economic history literature. In this study the amount of physical capital is calculated and its significance for industrial growth is analysed for the period 1870-1930. LÄS MER
4. Platelet activation and tissue factor release in hemolytic uremic syndrome
Sammanfattning : Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is a clinical syndrome characterized by microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and acute renal failure. There are two subtypes: typical HUS associated with enterohemorrhagic E. coli (EHEC) and atypical HUS associated with uninhibited activation of the alternative pathway of complement. LÄS MER
5. Formation and degradation of PCDD/F in waste incineration ashes
Sammanfattning : The disposal of combustible wastes by incineration is a controversial issue that is strongly debated by both scientists and environmental activists due to the resulting emissions of noxious compounds, including (inter alia) polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs), heavy metals and acid gases like sulfur dioxide. Currently available air pollution control devices are capable of effectively cleaning flue gases, and PCDD/F emissions to air from modern municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerators are low. LÄS MER
