11. Oxidative Degradation of Polyethylene - A Cause of Off-flavour
Sammanfattning : Polyethylene is the most frequently used polymer material in food packaging today. The polymer is often processed by film extrusion and extrusion coating between 250°C and 325°C. LÄS MER
12. Development of new affinity proteins for neurodegenerative disorders
Sammanfattning : Neurodegenerative disorders include a full spectrum of diagnoses, including dementias and other neuronal diseases, characterised by degradation of neurons in the brain occurring along with disease progression. Amongst the dementias, the most prevalent are Alzheimer’s (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD) that affect millions of people worldwide. LÄS MER
13. Development of the gastrointestinal tract in young mammals : Effects of enteral provocation with protease or phytohaemagglutinin in neonatal rats
Sammanfattning : The rat, as an altritial species, is born with an immature gastrointestinal tract and intestinal barrier function, which is highly absorptive to milk-borne bioactive molecules that can pass undigested and reach the general circulation of the suckling newborn. This passage occurs by the neonatal-Fc-receptor (FcRn) binding and trancytosis of immunoglobulin G in the proximal small intestine (SI) and by the highly endocytic vacuolated enterocytes non-selectively in the distal SI. 14. Bacterial epithelial interaction in intestinal inflammation
Sammanfattning : The intestine is constantly exposed to bacteria, invading viruses and ingested food. The intestinal barrier serves as a gate preventing passage of harmful components, and at the same time maintaining absorption of nutrients and water. LÄS MER
15. Studies on the enantioselective disposition of amlodipine : A challenge in bioanalysis
Sammanfattning : To study the disposition of the enantiomers of the calcium channel blocker amlodipine in human plasma, an enantioselective high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) assay was developed. Several HPLC techniques such as chiral ion-pair forming, chiral derivatisation and direct separation on chiral columns were evaluated. LÄS MER
