Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development of Swedish ice hockey as a national phenomenon during the period 1920–1972. The dissertation explores how the sport of ice hockey in just over half a century was transformed from a rather insignificant North American cultural import to one of Sweden’s most treasured pursuits by and large, and harbouring a national team (known as “Tre Kronor”) that at the height of its popularity in 1970 gathered almost the whole nation (82 percent of the adult population) in front of TV-sets during national game broadcasts. Sammanfattning : This study is an analysis of how television journalism, specifically Swedish publictelevision (SVT) and the commercial channel TV4, have approached environmental,consumption and lifestyle issues from 1997 to 1998. A central issue considered is howtelevision journalism in Sweden has contributed to an ideologieal change in societywhereby ecological considerations have become individualized, as well as reformulatedand re-ftamed such that they are no longer (or not) regarded as a hinder to technical andeconomic progress. Sammanfattning : The chief motive for introducing the sterilization laws of the 1930s and 1940s was to prevent mentally ill and ‘feeble-minded’ individuals from reproducing, mainly for population-policy and social reasons. When the ‘feeble-minded’ were set apart and classed as different or deviant, this was done on medical, racial hygiene and moral grounds and also to some extent on social grounds. LÄS MER
