1. Fluorimetric Bioprobe Based on DNA-dye Intercalation - Application in Enviromental and Clinical MonitoringDetta är en avhandling från Lund University
Sammanfattning : Nucleic acids have many unique structural features that offer reliable means of recognizing and monitoring many compounds of medical or environmental importance. In recent years, there has been an enormous increase in the use of nucleic acids as a tool to determine the chemical compounds of environmental and clinical interest and the major research activities in these areas have been directed towards the design of sequence-selective biosensors based on hybridization. 2. Direct injection of plasma samples into restricted-access media precolumns for drug analysis in column-switching systemsDetta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of using column-switching systems for direct injection of plasma samples to assay drugs at ng/ml levels. The systems utilized a restricted-access media (RAM) precolumn for the sample clean-up and trace enrichment. LÄS MER
3. Temporal events in neuronal differentiation and cell death : expression and processing of the Alzheimer's amyloid precursor protein family and a protein at the nuclear poreDetta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Dep. of Neurochemistry, Stockholm University
Sammanfattning : The present study had two major objectives: 1) to elucidate the involvement of Alzheimer’s amyloid precursor protein (APP) family in neuronal differentiation, and the effect of the Alzheimer’s disease (AD)-linked mutation APPV642I on signal transduction; 2) to investigate the fate of the nuclear pore complex protein POM121 during apoptosis and to examine the possibility of using green fluorescent protein (GFP)-labelled POM121 as a non-invasive sensor of apoptosis in living (non-fixed) cells.APP is the parent protein of the b-amyloid peptide, which is the major peptide constituent in the “senile plaques” of AD. 4. Microsomal glutathione transferase : studies on the kinetic mechanism, species variety, binding properties and substrate measurementDetta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Institute of Enviromental Medicine
Sammanfattning : Microsomal glutathione transferase (MGST) is a membrane bound detoxification enzyme, which has been purified from different species including rat, mouse, human, frog, and fish. The rat MGST1 is localized predominantly in the liver microsomes and the outer mitochondrial membrane. LÄS MER
