16. Fluorescence as a biological feedback signal for energy optimising spectra for greenhouse LED-illumination
Sammanfattning : The introduction of LED-lighting for greenhouses has enabled new ways of controlling the light, both spectrum and intensity, to save energy and increase crop production. We have investigated a new method of automatically tuning the spectrum based on biological feedback. LÄS MER
17. Whiteness and Fluorescence in Paper : Perception and Optical Modelling
Sammanfattning : This thesis is about modelling and predicting the perceived whiteness of plain paper from the paper composition, including fluorescent whitening agents. This includes psycho-physical modelling of perceived whiteness from measurable light reflectance properties, and physical modelling of light scattering and fluorescence from the paper composition. 18. Localisation of Fluorescent Probes and the estimation of Lipid Nanodomain sizes by modern fluorescence techniques
Sammanfattning : The thesis is divided into two major parts. The first part focuses on the localisation of probes in lipid/polymeric bilayers and in GM1 micelles. Included in this thesis is a new approach based on electronic energy transfer/migration (FRET/DDEM), which efficiently determines transversal positions of fluorescent molecules in lipid bilayers. 19. Biomarker detection via lab-on-a-chip integrated immunoaffinity approach for fluorescence and mass spectrometry readout
Sammanfattning : The blood/plasma protein biomarker profile represents the pathological and physiological changes relating to human diseases. However, the plasma proteome reflects a high degree of complexity that results in a challenge for most analytical methods in clinical diagnostics. LÄS MER
20. Laser Scanning Multiphoton Microscopy – Focusing on Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging for Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : Laser scanning multiphoton microscopy (MPM) is considered as a non-invasive technology for three-dimensional imaging of complex biological tissues. The quantitative potential of the MPM is not investigated as much as qualitative imaging. LÄS MER
