6. Orientation of fibres in suspensions flowing over a solid surface
Sammanfattning : The orientation of fibres suspended in a viscous fluid, flowing over a solid surface, has been studied experimentally. A shear layer was generated, by letting the suspension flow down an inclined plate. LÄS MER
7. Permeability of non-crimp fabrics : a computational fluid dynamics approach
Sammanfattning : In the present market for manufacturing of high performance structural parts for various applications such as aerospace, transportation, infrastructure, marine, sports and recreation, low weight, high performance composites are preferable. Non-Crimp Fabrics (NCFs) are often used for such applications due to its high mechanical properties and often cost effective production. LÄS MER
8. Fluid flow in wood fiber network
Sammanfattning : Cellulose material is processed to pulp suspensions and MDF boards in order to produce products such as papers, magazines, laminate floors or door skins. A critical stage of these processes is when the cellulose fiber networks are compressed to specific densities and when most of the fluid originally positioned between and inside the fibers is forced to leave the network. 9. Inflation Mechanics of Hyperelastic Membranes
Sammanfattning : The applications of inflatable membrane structures are increasing rapidly in the various fields of engineering and science. The geometric, material, force and contact non-linearities complicate this subject further, which in turn increases the demand for computationally efficient methods and interpretations of counter-intuitive behaviors noted by the scientific community. 10. Towards Automation of Non-Destructive Testing of Welds
Sammanfattning : All welding processes can give rise to defects that will weaken the joint and can lead to failure of the welded structure. Because of this, non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds have become increasingly important to ensure the structural integrity when the material becomes thinner and stronger and welds become smaller; all to reduce weight in order to save material and reduce emissions due to lighter constructions.
