  1. 1. Dynamics and Extreme Value Problems for Moored Floating Platforms

    Författare :Yungang Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; quasi-static; frequency-domain; extreme value; convolution; floating platform; low-frequency; time-domain; mooring cable; wave-frequency;

    Sammanfattning : This research deals with the dynamic response analyses and extreme value problems of moored floating platforms. It can be divided into three major subjects: first, the analysis of single cables and cable induced mooring damping; second, the dynamic analysis of the moored platforms, with special emphasis on the damping mechanisms and generation of the low-frequency excitation force time series; and third, the extreme wave-frequency responses and the combination of the low-frequency and wave-frequency extreme responses. 2. 2. Concurrent Engineering of Small Satellites using Hardware-in-the-loop Simulations

    Författare :Cristóbal Nieto-Peroy; Mathias Milz; Élcio Jeronimo de Oliviera; Giovanni Palmerini; Sergio Montenegro; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Concurrent Engineering; Hardware-in-the-loop Simulation; Small Satellite; CubeSat; Nanosatellite; Test-driven Development; Behavior-driven Development; Frictionless Platform; Floating Platform; Onboard space systems; Rymdtekniska system;

    Sammanfattning : The miniaturization of spacecraft has brough the possibility of conducting space missions to a vast portion of private enterprises and scientific institutions. The inaccessibility of modest developers to the resources that governmental agencies and primary contractors utilize to develop conventional satellites has not been an obstacle for them to apply different, more agile and risk-seeking approaches. 3. 3. Hydro-mechanical optimization of a wave energy converter

    Författare :Chisom Miriam Ekweoba; Andrej Savin; Halvar Gravråkmo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Ballast optimization; analytical model; pitching wave energy converter; power absorption performance; wave energy converter; geometry optimization; genetic algorithm; floating platform; extended degrees of freedom; beam model; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Sammanfattning : Wave energy conversion technology has gained popularity due to its potential to be-come one of the most preferred energy sources. Its high energy density and low car-bon footprint have inspired the development of many wave energy converter (WEC) technologies, few of which have made their way to commercialisation, and many are progressing. 4. 4. Developing Computational Methods for Moored Floating Wave Energy Devices

    Författare :Johannes Palm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wave Power; RANS simulations; Discontinuous Galerkin; Mooring Dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : Floating point absorbers are a common class of wave-power devices typically designed to move with large amplitude in energetic waves. This stands in sharp contrast to traditional marine design, where the wave-excited motions of the structure are preferably kept to a minimum. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Design of Reconfigurable Hardware Architectures for Real-time Applications

    Författare :Thomas Lenart; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stream Processing; Digital Holography; Reconfigurable Computing; Reconfigurable Architectures; Run-time Reconfiguration; Design Exploration; Hybrid floating-point; Data Scaling; FFT; ASIC;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses modeling and implementation of reconfigurable hardware architectures for real-time applications. The target application in this work is digital holographic imaging, where visible images are to be reconstructed based on holographic recordings. LÄS MER
