21. On the Modeling of Premixed Combustion under Varying Equivalence Ratios
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with numerical simulation of reactive flows. The numerical method is three dimensional and unsteady, which allows for spatial and temporal resolution of most of the scales of the fluid motion and the reaction process. In the turbulent cases studied, scales down to Taylor scales are resolved. LÄS MER
22. Spray combustion with multiple-injection in modern engine conditions
Sammanfattning : Combustion of fuel in diesel engines emits substances harmful to the environment such as soot. These emissions can be reduced by either in-cylinder treatments or after-treatments. One of the common in-cylinder treatments is multiple-injection, which divides a single fuel injection to multiple smaller injections. LÄS MER
23. Combustion Characteristics of a Swirl Dry Low Emission Burner Concept for Gas Turbine Application : Experiments and Simulations
Sammanfattning : In the current global energy scenario, gas turbine can provide delicate balance between the booming worlds energy requirement and a pollutant free sustainable society. Cleaner combustion of fuel (particular natural gas), efficient, reliable, low maintenance and cost effective operation of gas turbine attracted scientific community to push the limit further (high efficiency and zero emission gas turbine). 24. Development of an efficient solver for detailed kinetics in reactive flows
Sammanfattning : The use of chemical kinetic mechanisms in CAE tools for reactive flow simulations is of high importance for studying and predicting pollutant formation. However, usage of complex reaction schemes is accompanied by high computational cost in both 1D and 3D-CFD frameworks. LÄS MER
