11. Separation of biomolecules using Open-Loop Non-Isocratic Simulated moving bed (SMB) technology
Sammanfattning : In biotechnological industries, downstream processing is a bottleneck in the complete production process. There is a wish to reduce the costs and therefore one tries to operate separation technology in continuous mode. LÄS MER
12. Attacking and Defending the Privacy of Clinical Language Models
Sammanfattning : The state-of-the-art methods in natural language processing (NLP) increasingly rely on large pre-trained transformer models. The strength of the models stems from their large number of parameters and the enormous amounts of data used to train them. The datasets are of a scale that makes it difficult, if not impossible, to audit them manually. LÄS MER
13. Knotted Nodal Band Structures
Sammanfattning : It is well known that in conventional three dimensional (3D) Hermitian two band models, the intersections between the energy bands are generically given by points. The typical example are Weyl semimetals, where these singular points can be effectively described as Weyl fermions in the low energy regime. LÄS MER
14. The enzymatic machinery of leukotriene biosynthesis : Studies on ontogenic expression, interactions and function
Sammanfattning : Leukotrienes (LTs) are biologically active arachidonic acid (AA) derivatives generated by the 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) pathway. They are produced by myeloid cells. 5-LO converts AA to LTA4 in cooperation with 5-LO activating protein (FLAP). LTA4 is converted to LTB4, by LTA4-hydrolase (LTA4H) or to LTC4 by LTC4-synthase (LTC4S). LÄS MER
15. In pursuit of next generation photovoltaics : An electronic structure study of lead-free perovskite solar cells
Sammanfattning : The recent development of perovskite-based solar cells have shown a remarkably fast increase in power conversion efficiency making them a promising low-cost alternative to conventional cells. The most successful class of materials however, the lead-halide perovskites, are held back due to toxicity and stability issues significantly limiting their use. LÄS MER
