  1. 1. Carbon Nanotube Polymer Composites: Mechanical, Electrical and Photorefractive Properties

    Författare :Liliana Licea Jimenez; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; carbon nanotubes; electrical properties; photorefractive properties.; polymer matrix nanocomposites; mechanical properties;

    Sammanfattning : Incorporation of carbon nanotubes (CNT) into polymers is attractive due to the generally good processability of polymers and unprecedented properties of nanotubes. In this work, preparation and matrix known earlier but not employed so-far for nanocomposites are studied towards enhanced mechanical and electrical performances. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Functional Textile Coatings Containing Flake-shaped Fillers : investigations on selected optical and electrical properties

    Författare :Veronica Malm; Ilda Kazani; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :Flakes; fillers; textile coating; properties; multilayered mica; effect pigment; angle-dependent colour change; metals; conductivity; resistance measurements; e-textiles; flexibility; durability; Textil och mode generell ; Textiles and Fashion General ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the manufacturing and characterisation of functionalised textile coatings containing different types of flake-shaped fillers with angle-dependent colour-changing and electrically conductive properties, respectively. Common benefits of these types of flakes are their high aspect ratio, which offers low filler loading with high functional performance. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Structural design and properties of hydrogel biomaterials

    Författare :Mikael Larsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polyacrylic acid; Mechanical properties; Microfibrillated cellulose; Drug release; Chitosan; Biomaterials; Swelling; Hydrogels;

    Sammanfattning : Today a range of materials are used in medical applications; such materials are collectively denoted as biomaterials. A special class of biomaterials currently given much scientific interest is hydrogels. In particular a contemporary research topic is to create multicomponent materials in which synergetic effects are achieved. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Early age properties of self-compacting concrete - Effects of fine aggregate and limestone filler

    Författare :Oskar Esping; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pore pressure; autogenous deformation; self-compacting concrete; plastic shrinkage; BET; specific surface area; rheology; limestone filler;

    Sammanfattning : Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a sensitive mix, strongly dependent on the composition and the characteristics of its constituents. It has to possess the incompatible properties of high flowability together with high segregation resistance, a balance made possible by the dispersing effect of water-reducing admixture combined with cohesiveness produced by a high concentration of fine particles.
