2. On Radio Wave Propagation Measurements and Modelling for Cellular Mobile Radio Networks
Sammanfattning : To support the continuously increasing number of mobile telephone users around the world, mobile communication systems have become more advanced and sophisticated in their designs. As a result of the great success with the second generation mobile radio networks, deployment of the third and development of fourth generations, the demand for higher data rates to support available services, such as internet connection, video telephony and personal navigation systems, is ever growing. 3. Peak Shear Strength of Rock Joints – Towards a Methodology for Prediction Based on Field Data
Sammanfattning : The rock joint shear strength at field scale is an important design parameter and remains a challenge for rock mechanics engineers. In Sweden, there exist a large number of concrete dams that are founded on rock masses which in many cases contain sub-horizontal rock joints. LÄS MER
4. Thermal Crack Risk Estimation and Material Properties of Young Concrete
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents how to establish a theoretical model to predict risk of thermal cracking in young concrete when cast on ground or an arbitrary construction. The crack risk in young concrete is determined in two steps: 1) calculation of temperature distribution within newly cast concrete and adjacent structure; 2) calculation of stresses caused by thermal and moisture (due to self-desiccation, if drying shrinkage not included) changes in the analyzed structure. 5. Shape measurements using temporal phase unwrapping
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis is devoted to shape measurements using two different optical methods. The first one is a classical triangulation method, which uses projected fringes. The second one is a new interferometric method, which uses wavelength scanning. Both are whole field measuring methods. LÄS MER
