11. Eco-friendly Holocellulose Materials for Mechanical Performance and Optical Transmittance
Sammanfattning : Cellulosic materials can be sustainable replacements for fossil-based plastics; yet for some applications improvements are needed for mechanical properties, optical transmittance and eco-friendly characteristics. In this thesis, holocellulose materials are investigated for this purpose, and processing-structure-property relationships are discussed. LÄS MER
12. Bacterial adhesion to polyelectrolyte modified materials based on nanocellulose
Sammanfattning : Since the introduction of materials based on cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs), these materials have been studied extensively and are suggested to be suitable for use in, for example, hygiene and health care products. A property not very well studied but that could further increase the usability of CNF products is the possibility of controlling bacterial adhesion to the materials. LÄS MER
13. Bio-based preparation of nanocellulose and functionalization using polyelectrolytes
14. Development and Tailoring of Low‐Density Cellulose‐Based Structures for Water Treatment
Sammanfattning : The challenges posed by our limited clean water sources and the well-known global water pollution demand more efficient water purification technologies. Additionally, the increasing environmental awareness has inspired a shift towards eco-friendly and renewable materials and technologies. LÄS MER
15. Swelling of Cellulose Fibrillar Matrices and Gels
Sammanfattning : One of the major challenges of today´s society is to find a sustainable way to create a living based on the resources on earth. It is a challenge that includes a transition from fossil-based materials to renewable/biodegradable raw materials and also the creation of an environmentally friendly circular material flow. LÄS MER
