  1. 1. Fetal ECG waveform analysis for intrapartum monitoring

    Författare :Isis Amer-Wåhlin; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reproduction; Obstetrics; gynaecology; andrology; cerebral metabolism; microdialysis; implementation; fetal asphyxia; intrpartum monitoring; Fetal ECG; Cardiotocography; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : Waveform analysis of the fetal electrocardiogram has been studied since the early seventies from both physiological, signal processing and clinical aspects. It has been found to contain more useful information than the mere detection of RR-intervals (fetal heart rate), e.g. LÄS MER

  2. 2. ST analysis of the fetal ECG as an adjunct to fetal heart rate monitoring in labour-a clinical validation

    Författare :Håkan Noren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :fetal ECG; ST analysis; electronic fetal monitoring; cardiotocography; fetal blood sampling; metabolic acidosis;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to make an accurate assessment of fetal well-being during labour is a great challenge. Animal and human studies have shown that fetal hypoxemia during labour can alter the shape of the fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) waveform, notable elevation of the T-wave and depression of the ST segment. 3. 3. Fetal reactivity assessment during intrapartum stress by analysis of the fetal ECG signal

    Författare :Sofia Blad; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :FHR variability; fetal ECG; Asphyxia; Intrauterine infection; Residual method; STAN;

    Sammanfattning : Fetal responses to the stress of labour and delivery are constituted by a combination of changes in neuronal, hormonal and organ based reactions. The aim of electronic fetal monitoring is to identify fetuses at risk of hypoxia during birth, thus enabling timely intervention to avoid an adverse outcome. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Pathophysiology of intrauterine asphyxia

    Författare :Anna-Karin Welin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :asphyxia; ECG; endotoxemia; fetal sheep; inflammation; melatonin; periventricular leukomalacia; preterm;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The premature infant is at increased risk of cerebral white matter damage, oftenreferred to as periventricular leucomalacia, PVL, which is associated with later developmentof cerebral palsy and cognitive impairment. The etiology of PVL remains unclear, but ischemia-reperfusion followed by generation of free radicals and intrauterine infections havebeen suggested to play an important role. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fetal echo doppler for early detection of congenital heart block

    Författare :Gunnar Bergman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Fetal echo Doppler methods detecting prolonged atrioventricular (AV) time intervals, a mechanical PR interval corresponding to the electrical PR interval in ECG, have been proposed for surveillance of pregnancies at risk of complete congenital heart block (CCHB). The aim of this thesis was; to validate these Doppler methods by comparing AV time intervals from left ventricular inflow (MV), inflow and aortic outflow (MV-Ao) and superior vena cava and aortic flow (SVC-Ao) with ECG in newborns (Paper I); to investigate the significance of mechanical components in AV time prolongation (Paper II); to evaluate the diagnostic precision in a target population (Paper III) and to verify childhood outcome of fetuses, exposed to maternal anti- SSA/Ro antibodies (SSA),(Paper IV).
