  1. 1. The Mesoproterozoic Hallandian event - a region-scale orogenic event in the Fennoscandian Shield

    Författare :Linus Brander; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fennoscandian Shield; Hallandian orogeny; Eastern Segment; Protogine Zone; U-Pb geochronology; zircon; baddeleyite; Nd-isotopes; Hf-isotopes; tectonic model;

    Sammanfattning : The Sveconorwegian Province occupies the southwestern part of the Fennoscandian Shield. The easternmost tectonic unit of the Province is the 1710-1660 Ma parautochthonous Eastern Segment, which bears the imprint of at least two metamorphic events; the 1460-1380 Ma Hallandian and the 1150-970 Ma Sveconorwegian. 2. 2. Rapakivi granite and basic dykes in the Fennoscandian shield : a palaeomagnetic analysis

    Författare :Mohsen Oveisy Moakhar; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : Rapakivi rocks and basic dykes in the central part of Sweden have been subject to a palaeomagnetic study with the aim of putting the formation of these rocks into a plate tectonic context. Virtual geomagnetic poles were calculated and found to be distributed around the Jotnian Loop of the APWP of Fennoscandia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Seismic structure of the central Svecofennian lithosphere

    Författare :Sebastian Buntin; Alireza Malehmir; Christopher Juhlin; Michał Malinowski; Raymond Durrheim; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wide-angle reflection refraction seismic; near-vertical incidence seismic; Moho; crust-mantle boundary; saucer-shaped sill; BABEL; FENNOLORA; UPPLAND; Fennoscandian Shield; Bergslagen; Uppland Batholith; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Lithospheric structures in the Fennoscandian Shield in Sweden have been studied by a number of large-scale wide-angle seismic reflection/refraction (WARR) and normal-incidence reflection profiles since the 1960s. Among these were the over 2000 km long Fennoscandian Long Range (FENNOLORA) project in 1979 and the Baltic and Bothnian Echoes from the Lithosphere (BABEL) in 1989, which provided valuable images of the subsurface down to over 60 km depth including the Moho. 4. 4. 40Ar/39Ar, AFT and (U-Th)/He thermochronologic implications for the low-temperature geological evolution in SE Sweden

    Författare :Pia Söderlund; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 40Ar-39Ar; Fennoscandian Shield; U-Th He; AFT; geochronology; thermochronology; cooling; uplift;

    Sammanfattning : The Oskarshamn and Forsmark areas in the Fennoscandian Shield, SE Sweden, have been chosen as potential sites for hosting highly radioactive nuclear waste. To evaluate their respective suitability, the geological history of the bedrock in these two areas has been investigated. This study has focused on the thermal evolution, from c. 500 °C to c.
