  1. 1. Integration of filamentous fungi in ethanol dry-mill biorefinery

    Författare :Jorge Ferreira; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; airlift bioreactors; ascomycetes; biomass; bubble column; ethanol; feed; Neurospora intermedia; thin stillage; zygomycetes; Resursåtervinning; Resource Recovery;

    Sammanfattning : The industrial production of bioethanol as a replacement to gasoline is well-established worldwide, using starch- or sugar-rich substrates. Additionally, the bioethanol plants produce animal feeds derived from fermentation leftovers. The biorefinery character of bioethanol plants can be enhanced via process diversification. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Feedback thermotherapy for benign prostatic enlargement : A clinical and methodological evaluation

    Författare :Lennart Wagrell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; benign prostatic hyperplasia; transurethral microwave thermotherapy; feed-back thermotherapy; intraprostatic blood-flow; intraprostatic temperature; bladderneck; PET; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; kirurgi; särskilt urologi; Urology;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate a new treatment strategy for symptomatic benign prostatic enlargement.The transurethral thermotherapy (TUMT) antenna design was studied. The design influences the heating-profile significantly and the absorbed energy in a target volume were only about 13-20% of the energy delivered. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The reduction of the impact of energy consumption is a priority issue and a major challenge that concerns every country in the world. This is a complex task that needs to be tackled from several angles in the search for areas where optimizations and savings can be made. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Social-ecological dynamics in a highly regulated fisheries system - Sources of resilience and limits to command-and-control management

    Författare :Jonas Hentati-Sundberg; Henrik Österblom; Margit Eero; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; resilience; social-ecological system; feed-backs;

    Sammanfattning : Sustainable governance of natural resources is challenged by the poor understanding of complex human-nature couplings. Major advancements in resilience theory, acknowledging the importance of social-ecological linkages and the self-organizing capacity of social-ecological systems, provides a new perspective on research in sustainability science.
