  1. 1. Solution-Chemical Synthesis of Cobalt and Iron:Zinc Oxide Nanocomposite Films

    Författare :Ulrika Lagerqvist; Annika Pohl; Peter Svedlindh; Mikael Ottosson; Theodor Schneller; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fe:Zn oxide; Co-CoO; Solution-chemical synthesis; Heat treatment parameters; Nanocomposite; Film; Multilayer; Phase ratio; Phase distribution; Exchange bias; Magnetism; Photocatalysis; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The potentially most important challenges today are related to energy and the environment. New materials and methods are needed in order to, in a sustainable way, convert and store energy, reduce pollution, and clean the air and water from contaminations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Engineered Wetlands and Reactive Bed Filters for Treatment of Landfill Leachate

    Författare :Agnieszka Kietliñska; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Blast furnace slag; Compact constructed wetland; Metals; Nitrogen; Polonite; Sorbents;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this study were to investigate (i) anovel wetland treatment technology and (ii) selected bed filtermedia for the removal of contaminants from landfill leachate. Areview of the literature concerning experiences of the use ofconstructed wetlands (CW) for the removal of nitrogen fromlandfill leachate, showed that at least three groups oftreatment systems are in practice: sub-surface flow wetlands,hybrid systems (a combination of vertical and horizontal flowwetlands) and, compact constructed wetland (CCW). 3. 3. Epitaxy, analysis and application of semi-insulating III-V materials

    Författare :David Söderström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :InP; GaInP; semi-insulating materials; iron doping; ruthenium doping; HVPE; diffusion; deep levels; capture cross sections; resistivity analysis; buried heterostructure laser;

    Sammanfattning : Semi-insulating (SI) III-V materials can provide electricalisolation for integration and capacitance minimisation for highspeed operation. Compared to the polyimides, these can offerbetter thermal conduction. Ever since the fabrication of thefirst SI III-V materials, transition metals have been utilisedas deep impurities to impart SI properties. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Utilizing a tectonic framework to constrain the mineral system and remobilization in the Kiruna mining district, Sweden

    Författare :Leslie Logan; Tobias E. Bauer; Fernando Tornos; Olof Martinsson; Paul Evins; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kiruna; tectonic framework; mineral system; IOCG; IOA; remobilization; sulfur isotopes; trace elements; geochronology; Pahtohavare; Viscaria; Rakkurijärvi; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Kiruna mining district, located in the northern Norrbotten ore province, Sweden, is a geologically and economically important area, being the type-locality for Kiruna iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits and also host to a variety of other deposits including syngenetic stratiform exhalative Cu-(Fe-Zn) (Viscaria, Eastern Pahtohavare), epigenetic stratabound Cu ± Au (Pahtohavare), and iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG, Rakkurijärvi) deposits. However, the timing of IOA versus IOCG within the tectonic evolution is in question based on structural investigations showing Cu- and Fe-sulfides occur in late-orogenic structures. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Early Palaeozoic jawed polychaetes with focus on polychaetaspids and ramphoprionids from the Silurian of Gotland, Sweden

    Författare :Mats Eriksson; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fysisk geografi; Geologi; physical geography; Geology; chemistry; palaeobiogeography; palaeoecology; taxonomy; apparatus reconstructions; Silurian; Recent; Ordovician; early Palaeozoic; scolecodonts; Annelida; polychaeta;

    Sammanfattning : Jawed polychaete annelid worms were abundant and diverse in the early Palaeozoic seas and their jaws (scolecodonts) are common microfossils in sedimentary rocks of that age. Despite their abundance, relatively little work has been focused on these fossils. LÄS MER
