  1. 6. The mast cell transcriptome and the evolution of granule proteins and Fc receptors

    Författare :Srinivas Akula; Lars Hellman; Sandra Kleinau; Arne Egesten; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mast cell; Fc receptors; Granule serine protease; Evolution and transcriptome.; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Protection against disease-causing pathogens, known as immunity, involves numerous cells organs, tissues and their products. To able to understand the biology of immune cells (hematopoietic cells) and their role in an immune system, we have used several different methods, including transcriptome analyses, bioinformatics, production of recombinant proteins and analyses of some of them, focusing on the granule proteases by substrate phage display. 2. 7. Fc receptors and immunoglobulins in polyarthritis : A matter of function, supply and demand?

    Författare :Peter Matt; Ulla Lindqvist; Sandra Kleinau; Alf Kastbom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Fc receptors (FcR) and immunoglobulins (Ig) play important roles in the defence against pathogens. However, altered interactions of these may promote chronic inflammation in rheumatic diseases. An excess of Igs forming immune complexes (IC) could lead to continuous FcR activation and spreading of autoimmune inflammation to other tissues. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Antibody Feedback Regulation and T Cells

    Författare :Fredrik Carlsson; Birgitta Heyman; Alf Grandien; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Fc receptors; B cell; T cell; antigen presentation; complement receptors; complement; IgE; IgG3; CD23; antibody; Immunology; Immunologi;

    Sammanfattning : Antibodies, passively administered or actively produced, regulate immune responses to the antigen they recognize. This phenomenon is called antibody-mediated feedback regulation. Feedback regulation can be positive or negative, resulting in >1000-fold enhancement or >99% suppression of the specific antibody response. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The Role of Fc gamma Receptors and Mast Cell Chymase in Autoimmune Arthritis

    Författare :Sofia Magnusson; Sandra Kleinau; Jeanette Leusen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fc gamma receptors; rheumatoid arthritis; antibodies; mast cells; mast cell; Immunology; Immunologi; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : In autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), self-reactive antibodies are present at high levels, which contributes to disease pathogenesis. The antibodies mediate their effect predominantly by binding to Fc gamma receptors (FcγR) on various leukocytes, such as monocytes, macrophages and mast cells, where FcγR ligation leads to cell activation. 5. 10. Combinatorial Methodology. Screening for affinity specific ligands to biological and artificial receptors

    Författare :Margareta Krook; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peptide library; combinatorial; screening; phage display; affinity; DNA-interaction; chymotrypsin; peptide inhibitor; antibody; IgG; Fc; molecular imprinting; steroid; receptor; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Combinatorial screening methodology has been employed to select new affinity specific ligands to bilogical and artificial receptors. The screening methodology, in particular screening of combinatorial phage display peptide libraries against target molecules differing in function and shape, is focused upon. LÄS MER
